got STEM style?

WE are a community of women and girls who are unapologetically BOLD, SMART and CREATIVE, while not having to compromise their STEM background!

Our why

In order to pique the interest and truly encourage girls about STEM, we have to start at an early age. To do that we have to demonstrate STEM in an attractive way to girls.  At “got STEM style”, our mission is to empower women and girls to be unapologetically BOLD, SMART and CREATIVE while not having to compromise their STEM background but instead empowers who they are. Achieving this will provide endless opportunities to women not only economically but in power positions that men already have.

About Us

WE are creating an environment for women and girls to connect, share knowledge, expand their abilities, network through seminars and conferences all while bringing awareness that their creativity is not compromised by having STEM education but instead empowers who they are.

STEM empowers your KNOWLEDGE, STYLE empowers your EXPRESSION.

“I want women and girls to feel empowered to be creative and make ideas into reality by linking STEM.”
Mimi Irvin CEO & Founder, gotSTEMstyle

The Facts

According to research conducted by the National Girls Collaborative Project only 19% of students enrolled in AP Computer Science courses identify as female. This trend seems to remain true as girls transition into higher education and ultimately the workforce with a huge disparity within mathematical sciences and engineering occupations.

The Impact

Mentorship has long been known to have a significant impact on the lives of children and professionals alike. It creates an opportunity for mentors to provide mentees within insight and information that they would otherwise not have access to. It creates a space for mentees to gain confidence regarding their career path and choices that could possibly be made in the present that with have a positive impact on their future.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create an environment to connect, share knowledge, expand their abilities and network amongst successful women and girls doing creative things with a STEM background.

Our Fearless Leader

Founder and CEO, Mimi Irvin holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Southern University and A&M College.

Mimi has always been a fashionista and her unique way of dress did not hinder her corporate career. Ms. Irvin was the first African American woman in her company to be accepted in a Global Leadership Program in which only 50 out of 56k+ in the company are members. Mimi is also the creator of the blog “official corporate chic” which detials how she dressed outside the box in vintage and resale clothing in corporate America. She is also the owner of MeYe Label (pronounced My Label). As time evolved Mimi has become an influencer in STEM, fashion, hair, and fitness.

Ms. Irvin was approached by company leadership to be a part of the DiscoverE Global Marathon and speak on being a creative engineer and she felt this was her chance to be an example. Ms. Irvin came up with her topic “got STEM style” discussing how STEM is connected to fashion. That is where got STEM style was born.
